The estimated £300 million spent on unused prescription medications each year, based on average costs, is the equivalent of:
11,778 MORE community nurses or
80,906 MORE hip replacements or
19,799 MORE drug treatment courses for breast cancer or
300,000 MORE drug treatment courses for Alzheimer's or
312,175 MORE cataract operations
Siam Surgery issues 28 day prescriptions, which means that each time you get a prescription, you will recieve enough of each medicine to last you one month.
Patients on long term medication can order a repeat prescription in the following ways:
- In person - drop your repeat slip in at reception having clearly marked the items required.
- By post
- Online - follow the link at the top of this page to complete a simple registration.
Telephone requests may lead to mistakes and therefore are only taken under exceptional circumstances.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and a notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
